Arado Waterfall is located in the heart of Peneda-Gerês National Park. It is one of the largest and most famous waterfalls in the park.
Located on the Arado River, near the village of Ermida and the Pedra Bela Viewpoint, the access is made by a sand forest road, surrounded by abundant vegetation.
At least in summer, there is not much water flowing in the river, but there is always someone experiencing a fresh and crystal clear river bath.
Situated at an altitude of about 900 meters, it creates a succession of unique waterfalls through the rocks. On the right side of the river (looking north), there are a series of steps that lead us to a small viewpoint at the top to contemplate the waterfall through all the vegetation.
It is a good place to watch the waterfall but can be difficult in months of dense vegetation, but is the easiest and fastest access.
Access to the base of the Arado Waterfall can be done through this viewpoint, but it is very dangerous and steep access that only the most adventurous but careful descends.
The best access is by the bridge, where you leave the car, and you can reach the base of the waterfall through rocks escaping the small puddles that are forming.
